REIKI HEREFORD

Reiki was created in 1923 by a Japanese Buddhist named Mikao Usui. Eventually, reiki was brought to the Western world by Hawaya Takata after seeking reiki treatment herself for asthma and lung issues.

Reiki is a healing therapy which involves the therapist channelling energy into someone by means of touch (or no touch at all), to activate the natural healing processes of the individual's body and restore physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Reiki induces deep relaxation and calm to ones nervous system.  As a reiki practitioner, I place my hands on or near the body, working my way down the body in a series of hand placements to balance my client's vital energies; allowing healing energy to flow freely throughout the body. This helps to bring the body and mind into a greater state of balance.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF REIKI

Reiki has be shown by many to provide numerous benefits including offering relief from physical, mental and emotional symptoms such as pain, anxiety, stress and fatigue - boosting mood and enhancing ones quality of life.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR TREATMENT

A reiki session usually lasts around 50 minutes. Clients lie on my massage chair, fully clothed with their shoes taken off. During the session, I will gently place my hands, palms down, on or just above my client's body in specific energy locations.

During the session clients should pay attention to their experiences and feelings and notice the meditative and healing effects it can have.

After the session, the healing should continue for several days. Some may experience no bodily sensations of the energy moving - this is not an indication of no healing having taken place. Others may experience quite strong emotions, heightened energy flow, fatigue, detox effects such as headaches and digestive shifts.
